On Monday, a new temporary collective agreement was signed by the Italian Footballers Association and league representatives, ending the strike which caused the first matches of the season to be canceled.
The new agreement will be in effect until June of next year, although the usual term is three years.
Due to disagreements between the league and players, the season did not start on August 27-28, but this Friday, as planned, the matches of the second round will be played.
An agreement was reached on the issue that caused the biggest conflict: high-earning footballers in Italy will mostly pay the new government taxes out of their own pockets.
However, it is still not agreed whether clubs will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to force players who have one year left until the end of the contract to agree to be sold or to train not with the main team.
