The suspected "Borussia" bus attacker detained in Germany

The law enforcement of Germany on Wednesday detained the first suspect in the case of explosions targeting the bus of the Dortmund football club "Borussia", reports "Die Zeit".

The latest events were reported by Federal Prosecutor's Office representative Frauke Koehler. She also pointed out that investigators were interested in two suspects known for their Islamist views.

The main version of the prosecutors is that the "Borussia" club bus, which the players were traveling in to the Champions League quarter-final home match against the "Monaco" team, became a target for terrorists.

During the incident in Dortmund, which led to the important match being postponed on Tuesday evening, Spanish defender Marc Bartra of "Borussia" was lightly injured after the bus window shattered.

Authorities revealed on Wednesday that one of the metal pieces used in the explosive devices got stuck in the headrest of a seat on the bus by sheer coincidence, not injuring anyone.

Shortly after the explosion in Dortmund, the police started investigating several letters allegedly related to it. One of them, starting with a ritual Muslim phrase, demanded the withdrawal of German Air Force "Tornado" jets from the international operation in Syria against the extremist organization "Islamic State", and the closure of the U.S. military base in Ramstein, Germany.

Another letter, appearing on the website "Indymedia", seemingly aimed to suggest that the attack could have been carried out by radical left-wing activists. However, it did not convince specialists - it is believed to be a hoax with unclear motives.
