In the European Championship Group D, Czech footballers showed character and were able to expand the score in the match against the Croatian team - 2:2.
At the end of the match, Balkan football representatives led 2:1 and had a victory in their pocket, but their foolish fans started throwing firecrackers and flares at the Czech goalkeeper - the referee had to temporarily stop the match.
The fans tried to calm down and the Croatian players, but the thrown firecrackers forced the stars to run for cover.
Slightly later, the match was resumed and the opponents took advantage of the disrupted Croatian rhythm, earning a penalty kick and expanding the score.

The Czech team could not break through the opponent's defense. Meanwhile, the Croatians tried to respond with dangerous attacks.
In the middle of the first half, Ante Cacic's pupils started pressing the opponents near their goal. In the 20th minute, P. Cech poorly caught the ball, but the Croatians did not take advantage of the opportunity.
In the 21st minute, M. Mandzukic made a great pass and I. Perisic was just inches away from scoring the first goal.
In the 36th minute, I. Perisic confused the defender in the penalty area, but still missed the opportunity. Eventually he achieved his goal - in the middle of the penalty area the Croatians took possession of the ball and Perisic, receiving a pass from M. Badelj, beat P. Cech - 1:0.
The Czechs had a chance in the 43rd minute, but their penalty shot was blocked by the opponents' defenders.
In the 60th minute, the second goal was scored. M. Brozovic intercepted the ball, passed it to I. Rakitic and left P. Cech no chance - 2:0.
Shortly after, sad news came from the favorite's camp of the meeting - L. Modric felt pain in his thigh and had to leave the field.
The Croatians continued to attack, but opportunities were missed by M. Mandzukic, Brozovic and I. Rakitic.
In the 76th minute, an unexpected goal was scored in Subasic's goal - T. Rosicky made a high pass to M. Skoda, who recently appeared in the penalty area and without seeing the goal, left no chance for the Croatian defense - 2:1.
After the Croatian fans' attack, the Czechs fought back - in the 93rd minute, in the penalty area, the ball was touched by defender Vida's hands and T. Necid confidently converted the penalty kick - 2:2.
Distressed Croatians could even have lost the match, but P. Vrbos' players wasted the opportunities created.
