The tournament of Lithuanian veterans (35+) cup ended with the victory of the Gargzdai team

Over the weekend, the tournament of Lithuanian veterans (35+) came to an end, where the victory was celebrated by the Gargždai AMT veteran football players.

It is worth noting that in the Žemaitija zone, five teams competed for the first place using a two-round system. These teams were Plungė "Babrungas", Kretinga "Minija", Tauragė "Tauras", Telšiai "Džiugo veteranai", and Gargždai AMK "Veteranas".

After playing against each other twice, it became clear that the winners in this zone were the team from Gargždai, with Telšiai in second place and the "Tauras" football players in third place.

This year, it was not possible to gather a full team to carry out the championship matches in the Aukštaitija zone, even though there were teams willing to play (Vilnius "Aktas" and Ukmergė "Vienybė"), so it was decided to hold cup matches.

In the cup matches, two of the strongest teams from the Žemaitija zone (Gargždai and Telšiai) and two teams from the Aukštaitija zone who wanted to compete - "Aktas" and "Vienybė" participated.

In a series of two matches, the Ukmergė team defeated the team from Vilnius, which meant that in the semifinals, the team from Gargždai faced "Aktas", and Telšiai faced the Ukmergė team.

However, in these matches, the teams from Žemaitija - Gargždai and Telšiai - proved their advantages, defeating their opponents and meeting again for the cup over the weekend.

In the final, there was a fierce and close battle, but the Gargždai team emerged victorious, defeating Telšiai 3:2 and becoming the cup winners. Meanwhile, the third place went to the Ukmergė team "Vienybė", which defeated "Aktas" 5:2 and claimed the bronze.

The best players of the teams were also selected, they are:
