On Sunday at 9:00 PM Lithuanian time, the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament came to an end in Gabon with the final match played.
The two strongest teams from the Black Continent, Egypt and Cameroon, clashed at the Stade d'Angondje stadium. After a fierce and intense battle, Cameroon emerged as the strongest team in Africa.
In the 22nd minute, Mohamed Elneny put Egypt ahead with a powerful and precise shot after a great pass from Mohamed Salah, but the Cameroonians looked much more aggressive in the second half.
In the 60th minute, the score became tied - Nicholas N'Koulou scored with a header from a set piece. As the match approached the end, it seemed like the teams would have to play extra time, but Vincent Aboubakar, who came on as a substitute, decided to end the match early.
The forward sprinted forward after a high pass and cleverly lifted the ball over the opponent with a crafty shot, putting Cameroon in the lead. There was added time left to play until the end of the match, but the Egyptians could not save themselves during it.
Cameroon became African champions for the fifth time in the country's history. The last time the Cameroonians triumphed in the Black Continent was in 2002.
It is worth mentioning that in yesterday's third-place match, Burkina Faso won the bronze medal by narrowly defeating Ghana.

Egypt 1 - 2 Cameroon
