According to the new book - Barca Inedit, Dutchman Johan Neeskens was sold from the "Barcelona" team in 1979 for an unbelievable reason.
The book claims that Neeskens, who represented the national team 49 times during his career, was sold by the then "Barca" president Jose Luis Nunez because the Dutchman refused to hand over toilet paper to Nunez at the "Estadio Jose Rico Perez" stadium when he needed it most. Despite spending five years in the team and being one of the fans' favorite players, Nunez stated that he would sell him at the first opportunity for such behavior, and he soon kept his word by sending the footballer to the "New York Cosmos" team.
The 64-year-old former "Ajax" defender later returned to the team as an assistant coach working under Frank Rijkaard, but after an unsuccessful 2007-2008 season, he was dismissed along with the entire coaching staff.
