The VAR system has impressed the world of football work at the FIFA World Cup, and now UEFA is considering introducing innovations into the Champions League matches.
"The Times" reports that there is a significant chance that video reviews will be used in the quarter-final stage matches starting at the beginning of next year.
Initially, UEFA was concerned that there may not be enough high-level referees for every group stage match, and testing will be done when only one match is played per day.
After the World Cup, VAR was praised by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who said:
"This system has cleaned up football and made the game more transparent and fair. Until now, 95 percent of decisions were correct, and now this figure has increased to 99.32 percent. There are no longer goals scored with handballs in football," Infantino said.
UEFA will make a final decision on VAR before the end of next month.
