"Manchester United" fans can breathe a sigh of relief – the future is tied to the club by 23-year-old Anthony Martial.
The "Red Devils" led intense negotiations with A. Martial's agent throughout this season. An agreement was finally reached on the last day of January – the Frenchman committed to staying at "Man Utd" until 2024, with the possibility of extending the cooperation for another season.
According to various sources, A. Martial will now earn 175 thousand pounds sterling per week.
"I love the time I spent at this club. From the day I became part of the 'United' family, I felt an incredible love from the fans, who never stopped supporting me.
I want to thank Ole and his coaching staff, who showed confidence in me and helped me reach another level of play. Everything in this club revolves around trophies, and I am convinced that we are not far off," said A. Martial.
Rumors circulated last summer that the Frenchman and "Man Utd" would go separate ways, but ultimately he stayed, and with the departure of Jose Mourinho, there were no doubts about signing a new contract.
A. Martial arrived at "Manchester United" in 2015. The striker, who cost 58 million pounds sterling, silenced his critics in his debut season, but under J. Mourinho's football, he enjoyed less success.
During his 3.5 years with the "Red Devils," the former representative of "Monaco" played 161 matches and scored 46 goals.
Today just got a whole lot better! #MUFC
