Sunday in the battles of the "Optibet A League" began with a match in Telšiai, where the local team faced off against the Gargždai "Bangos" footballers.
Telšiai's "Džiugo" team did not rewrite history and lost the Žemaitija derby with a score of 1:2 (0:1).
The first dangerous opportunity in the duel was created by the Gargždai team - after a rejected pass from a teammate, Karolis Žebrauskas took a shot at goal, but the home goalkeeper made no mistake.
In the 25th minute of the match, Karolis Laukžemis scored a precise goal after a pass from Roberto Vėževičius, directing the ball into the net with his heel.
At the end of the first half, the Telšiai team launched an attack on the opponents' goal, and Motiejus Burba, who could have equalized the score, missed the target.
In the 58th minute, the second goal of the match was scored, as Milan Jezdimirovičius unintentionally directed the ball into his own goal.
Shortly after, a shot from far towards the "Bangos" goal was taken by Nuno Pereira, however, his shot was not accurate, and a little over a minute later, M. Burba also failed to score with his attempt.
At the end of the match, after a good pass from M. Burba, Edwardas Sarpong headed in a goal. The Telšiai team could have equalized the score, but was disrupted by the goal structure and the skillful Mantas Bertašius.
After playing the 13th match of the "Optibet A League," "Banga" with 13 points approached the Kaunas region team "Hegelmann" in sixth position, while the "Džiugo" team with 8 points remained in the last position on the tournament table.
