A special event against representatives of one of the world's most famous clubs, an extraordinary opportunity, and a record influx of spectators – all of this was experienced on Wednesday night by the talented prospects of the "Žalgiris" team in the UEFA Youth League.

However, the team from Vilnius struggled to mount serious resistance against the future stars of the "Red Devils" at home, suffering a defeat of 2:5.

4247 spectators witnessed the dominance of the English team – after goals from G. Banchieri and E. Williams, "Man Utd" led 0:4. During additional time, the teams exchanged goals – for the hosts, V. Kondrotas and R. Janson scored.

In the first stage of the UEFA Youth League, where U-19 (under 19 years old) teams compete, "Žalgiris" twice overcame the Welsh champions "The New Saints".

The return match between "Žalgiris" and "Man Utd" talents will take place on November 6 in Manchester.
