There is no lack of inventiveness in Belarus: matches were watched by virtual fans

Belarus remains the only country in Europe where football matches are being held, and on Wednesday one of the country's stadiums was in the spotlight, lrytas.lt reported.

On Wednesday, the Belarus Cup matches were played, and all eyes were on the battle between Brest's "Dynamo" and Soligorsk's "Shakhtar" clubs. However, the attention was not on the match result, but on the view in the stands of Brest Stadium.

It turns out that "Dynamo" decided to sell "virtual" tickets to these matches to people from all over the world before the match.

A ticket costing 23.3 euros was much more expensive than the cheapest standard (0.87 euro) or the most expensive real (5.57 euros). By purchasing a virtual ticket, a seat in the stadium was guaranteed, a real ticket was sent, and a 10% discount on club merchandise was received.

The club announced that part of the proceeds from these tickets would go towards the fight against COVID-19 in Belarus.

However, "Dynamo" fulfilled its promise and virtual fans could be seen in the stands. Mannequins dressed in various club scarves watched the match, with real people's photos attached to them.

"Our fans from all over the world look happy. Thank you for your support," wrote the official club account on social media.

It seems that the promotion was indeed successful for the club, as the home team "Shakhtar" won 2-0 against the opponents.
