Guards Daniele De Rossi and striker Mario Balotelli, who have gained notoriety due to undisciplined behavior in recent days, were not invited to the Italian national team, which is preparing for European Championship qualifying matches against Slovenia and Ukraine.

Coach Cesare Prandelli has established rules of conduct that must be followed when representing clubs, and both players violated them. UEFA disqualified De Rossi for elbowing opponent Darijo Srna in the Champions League, while Balotelli committed a serious foul against Goran Popov in the Europa League and was sent off the field.

Since defender Andrea Pirlo is injured, Prandelli gave a chance to "Cesena" guard Marco Parolo, who has not represented his country until now.
