PSV Eindhoven will not be able to create history in the Eredivisie.
After the national team break, Peter Bosz's students suffered a 1:3 defeat to NEC. Thus, their "untouchable" season collapsed, as it was their first loss in this season.
PSV started strong in the match, with the first goal scored by Yorbe Vertessen. However, NEC managed to come back.
Former Ajax player Lasse Schone scored in the 43rd minute. In the second half, the victory was sealed with goals from Ritsu Doan and Sylla Sow.
It is worth mentioning that with this victory, NEC surpassed Ajax in the league table, who continue to struggle. They may not even play in the Europa League next season and once again try their luck in the Conference League.
