The defender of the Spanish national team, Thiago, has signed a new contract with Munich's Bayern, the club announced in an official statement.
"We are happy that Thiago has decided to stay at Bayern for a long time," said club president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. "He is a young and very important player for our future."
Thiago arrived in Munich in 2013 from Barcelona. Unfortunately, the Spaniard missed a significant part of his career at Bayern due to serious injuries and played only 38 matches in all competitions in his first two seasons in Germany.
Thiago's new contract with the three-time Bundesliga champions will be valid until 2019.
