At the time when the Spanish team crushed the Taiwan team in the FIFA Confederations Cup tournament, thieves were wreaking havoc in their hotel rooms.

Upon returning to the hotel, the Spanish national team footballers noticed that their wallets and personal belongings were missing. The team was staying in the town of Resife.

The Spaniards immediately notified the police about the theft. In total, 6 footballers were affected, including Gerard Pique.

Officially, it is not disclosed which other footballers were robbed. Brazilian police have not yet found any suspects in their search for the criminals.

The team was upset with the hotel security, which did not ensure the safety of the rooms and the footballers' belongings.

Crime is one of the biggest problems plaguing the major cities of Brazil.
