This season's Champions League is not welcoming to the champions of the strongest European leagues

In the Champions League, today's matches of the group stage will finish, but it is already clear that in this stage the strongest teams of European leagues champions failed to win any of their groups.

None of the strongest champions of European leagues (Spain, England, Italy, Germany, France, and Portugal) managed to win their group matches in the first stage, and two of them have already finished their tournaments. Even before the last match, "Ligue 1" champions "Monaco" have no chance to advance from the last place in Group G, and "Benfica" from Portugal, triumphant in Group A, did not earn a single point.

The champions of Spain, "Real" footballers, will take the second place in Group H, and they will be surpassed by the team that took the second position in last year's "Premier" league - "Tottenham Hotspur." The champions of Germany, Italy, and England also finished second in their groups. "Bayern" yielded the top spot last season to "Paris Saint-Germain" in France, "Juventus" failed to surpass the second "La Liga" team from last season - "Barcelona," and "Chelsea" gave up the first place in Group C to the vice champions of "Serie A" - "AS Roma" footballers.

Today, "Spartak" could join these clubs, but they can only secure their path to the next stage with a victory over "Liverpool." However, theoretically, this team can still win the group stage matches, but in order to take the first place in the group, they will also have to hope that "Sevilla" will not defeat the "Maribor" club in the away game.
