During the upcoming summer, the world football championship in Russia is expected to see an influx of prostitutes from Nigeria, reports lrytas.lt. This was stated to the RBK agency by the head of the public organization "Alternatyva" Oleg Melnikov. According to the organization's data, about 5 thousand girls from Nigeria come to Russia annually to provide sexual services. They usually enter the country with visas meant for students. Currently, about 3 thousand Nigerian citizens work as prostitutes in Moscow. O. Melnikov predicts that during the football championship, the number of Nigerian prostitutes in Russia may increase up to 20 thousand. "They will buy the cheapest ticket to the football matches and will be flown to Russian cities where the world championship fights will take place. The girls will enter the country without visas and any checks," said O. Melnikov. This could lead to an epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases.
