FIFA president Sepp Blatter will have three competitors in the upcoming elections. FIFA has approved all contenders to seek the leadership position.
These are former footballer Luis Figo, Netherlands Football Federation President Michael van Praag, and Jordanian Prince Ali.
Former FIFA general secretary Jerome Champagne also hoped to challenge S.Blatter, but he only received support from three out of the five required federations.
The Frenchman was a harsh critic of S.Blatter.
The FIFA president elections will take place on May 29th. 209 FIFA-affiliated associations will participate in the voting.
S.Blatter has been working in FIFA since 1998. He is seeking his fifth term.
