During the off-season, the greatly depleted Klaipėda "Atlantas" team was supplemented by the first newcomers. According to the newspaper "Vakarų ekspresas", the port city club was joined by defender who transferred from "Šilutė", former "Vėtra" striker Douglas from Nigeria and defender who returned from "Kaunas".

The 25-year-old former captain of "Šilutė" Z. Butkus signed a three-year contract, and the 22-year-old Nigerian I. Douglas, who spent a couple of years in Vilnius with "Vėtra" and did not play in the "A League" last season, shook hands on a two-year contract.

The Klaipėda team was also supplemented by part of the last season's "Kaunas" club - 20-year-old defender Kazimieras Gnedojus on loan, while whether another 20-year-old guard will remain in the ranks of the country's champions, according to "Atlantas" president Vacys Lekevičius, will be clarified after the Sandraugos taurė tournament.

Meanwhile, two Lithuanian national team players who left "Atlantas" during the off-season may continue their careers in Azerbaijan - defender is participating in a trial with an undisclosed club in that country, while guard may move to "Inter" in Baku, where former Klaipėda striker Valdas Trakys already plays.
