Momo Yansane and Adama Traore scored goals for Tiraspol, with Cristiano providing both assists. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund began the Champions League group stage successfully with a 2-1 victory over Istanbul's Besiktas. Jude Bellingham opened the scoring in the first half, and later provided an assist to the young Norwegian Erling Haaland. However, in the dying moments of the match, Besiktas managed to reduce the deficit and keep the game interesting. Francisco Montero scored a header following a successful pass from Miralem Pjanic.
