Brazilian national team coach Tite said at a press conference ahead of the upcoming World Cup matches that the country's most prominent football star is still not in optimal form.
Today Brazil will begin their journey at the World Cup - they will face Switzerland at 9 PM. Neymar has not played for his club since February, but he has played in friendly matches for the Brazilian national team and has already shown excellent results.
"Neymar is not 100% ready, but his physical attributes give him an advantage. His speed is incredible, but he still can't fully exploit it," Tite said.
"We are pleased that he is with us, because a few weeks ago we could not imagine that he would be in such good shape," added the coach.
When asked if Neymar is the most important person in his team, Tite remained professional: "I don't think he is the leader - our strength is the group we have.
We are a strong and competitive team, with our own style of play and among the candidates to win the World Cup."
