Three Lithuanians will compete in the Romanian league this year - previously called up by Panevėžys "Ekrano" goalkeeper Paulius Grybauskas, Galați "Oțelul" club strengthened with two more players from Lithuania and signed contracts with former "Žalgiris" footballers defender Tadas Gražiūnas and forward Tadas Labukas.
28-year-old T. Gražiūnas started last season as the captain of "Žalgiris", but after playing 16 matches in the "A League" in June, he broke his arm in a match against Panevėžys "Ekrano" and could not play for a while, later he did not appear in the main team anymore.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old T. Labukas fared much better and joined the ranks of the green-and-whites before the season, immediately becoming one of the leaders of the Vilnius team and played a total of 34 matches in the country's championship, scored 10 goals, and earned an invitation to the Lithuanian national team.
At the end of the season, both players parted ways with "Žalgiris" and decided to seek happiness abroad. They were invited to the Romanian mid-table team "Oțelul", which at the end of 2006 signed a contract with the successful Lithuanian national team debutant and football agents' noticed Paulius Grybauskas.
