Today in Romania - 2020 European Championship draw ceremony

After reaching the end of the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying stage, the draw for the main tournament group stage will take place tonight. The ceremony, starting at 19:00, will be held in a exhibition center in Bucharest, Romania. Iker Casillas, a twice champion of the Old Continent, will help the UEFA secretariat draw the balls. The rules of the draw are clear: the national teams participating in the European Championship will be divided into six groups of four. 24 teams will already participate in these championships. 20 teams are already known, with four more to be determined in March when the knockout matches will be played. All national teams are divided into four pots. Teams that have secured their spot in the European Championship through an additional round will go to the fourth pot. The European Championships, held in 12 countries, will start on June 12 and end on the same day in July. The opening match will be played in Rome, and the semifinals and finals will take place in London at the "Wembley" Stadium.
