Today, on Saturday, the Baltic Cup tournament matches will take place in Vilnius and Kaunas where the relationships between the national and youth (up to 21 years old) teams of Lithuania and Latvia will be clarified.
The only training session for the Lithuanian youth team took place yesterday. There are no injuries in the team, all players are healthy, and furthermore the national team coach A. Liubinskas lent the goalkeeper Tomas Tamošauskas to the U-21 team for the match.
According to the head coach of the Lithuanian youth team, Vitalijus Stankevičius, it is necessary to defeat Latvians because after three defeats - in Georgia, Bosnia, and against "Atlanta" - the team must recover if they want to think about victory against the Spanish team in the World Cup qualifying group.
It is worth noting that the youth teams' matches will take place at the Vilnius "Vėtra" stadium, starting at 12 o'clock, while the national teams' matches will begin at 16:30 at the Kaunas S. Dariaus and S. Girėnas stadium.
Entrance to the youth match is free, while tickets for the matches of the national teams cost 10 litas. However, school-age children will be admitted for free upon application. Therefore, we invite everyone to come to the stadiums to support their country's teams in these important neighborly matches!
