One of the most influential US business newspapers "Forbes" announced the top ten highest-earning athletes in the world, which includes two of the best footballers on the planet.
In 2014, the highest-earning professional US boxer Floyd Mayweather earned a whopping $84.7 million in salary and endorsements into his bank account.
In second place was Madrid's "Real" and Portugal's national team star Cristiano Ronaldo, who earned $64.5 million in 2014.
Four-time best footballer in the world Lionel Messi also earned an impressive amount of money, but the Argentine fell behind Ronaldo. "Barcelona" forward pocketed $52.1 million into his pocket.
Not a single footballer's name was mentioned in the top ten, as it is dominated by United States athletes.
