The Lithuanian Football Federation has a new main sponsor.

At the press conference held on Tuesday, the new main sponsor of the LFF was introduced - it became the Lithuanian betting company "TOPsport".

In Lithuania, a betting company was established in 2002, and that year the first betting point in Lithuania was founded.

Since then, "TOPsport" has opened betting points and casino gaming lounges in many Lithuanian cities - currently "TOPsport" has 26 different betting points and slot machine lounges in various cities in Lithuania.

"We are very pleased to start the new year with exciting news and to introduce a new main sponsor for the Lithuanian Football Federation."

We are very satisfied that we have managed to find common ground with the "TOPsport" company, and we believe that the cooperation will be long and successful for both parties," said Edgaras Stankevičius, the President of the Lithuanian Football Federation.

The new partnership also means changes in the names of the upcoming season's competitions - the top Lithuanian division will be called "TOPsport A lyga", the second division - "TOPsport Pirma lyga".

Also changing is the name of this season's futsal championship - from now on the championship will be called "TOPsport futsal A lyga".

The "TOPsport" name will also be used for the upcoming selection of the best Lithuanian football players and for the match for the LFF Super Cup trophy at the end of February.

"We have been supporting football for over 10 years. We had a long period with Vilnius "Žalgiris", a project in Croatia, and now we also cooperate with "Kauno Žalgiris", so football is very close to us. The past year, especially the last two national team windows in the autumn, showed that the Lithuanian national football team has a lot of potential and with the appropriate infrastructure, such as the UEFA-standard Darius and Girėnas Stadium, we can see that it is possible to achieve results that the Lithuanian national team has not achieved in its entire history."

Now the most important thing is to defeat the Gibraltar national team for a place in the C division of the Nations League, and then we can look at bigger goals. In the 2026 World Cup, there will be 48 teams playing, with Europe receiving a larger quota.

It may sound like something from the realm of fantasy to some, but why not try to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in Lithuanian football history?" said "TOPsport" director Gintaras Staniulis.
