Former 1970 World Cup champion Tostao believes that Neymar has reached a higher level than the legendary Brazilian footballers before him - Ronaldo and Romario.
The 24-year-old footballer is currently the brightest star in Brazilian football, but he still hasn't surpassed the goals scored by the two mentioned. According to the legendary Tostao, the only thing stopping Neymar from becoming the best football player on the planet are Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
"Neymar is better than Romario or Ronaldo. He is a more 'complete' footballer, having almost everything a best player needs," Tostao told the "El Pais" publication.
"I don't know if he will become the best in the world, but he is phenomenal. He strikes well, makes good passes, has exceptional technique, and is very fast. I think he can become the greatest Brazilian football star since Pele's time.
Obviously, due to Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi, Neymar is not yet the best football player on the planet. However, he is certainly better than Kaka, Luis Figo, or Rivaldo, who have won the 'Golden Ball,'" concluded the former Brazilian football star.
