Amsterdam's "Ajax" team seems to have acquired their main target for the summer. "De Telegraaf" journalist Mike Verweij announces that "Ajax" and "Tottenham" have finally reached an agreement on the transfer of S. Bergwijn. It is reported that this will be a record purchase for the Amsterdam team, with a fee of 30 million euros. Previously, the most expensive purchase was Sebastian Haller for 22.5 million euros. "Tottenham" paid a similar amount for S. Bergwijn in the summer of 2020, when he was bought from the PSV club in Eindhoven. The Dutchman experienced his best moments at the London club during the first part of the 2020/21 season under Mourinho. However, after a defeat against "Liverpool," when the forward missed a golden opportunity, the whole Dutch season as well as the season for the "Tottenham" team took a turn for the worse, as there was a chance to be at the top of the table in December. Bergwijn has scored 5 times for the Netherlands national team in recent years.
