On Saturday evening, another seven matches of the 8th round were played in the English Premier League.
Perhaps the most interesting match took place at the "Etihad" stadium, where "Manchester City" faced Liverpool's "Everton". Despite saving two penalties, Maarten Stekelenburg helped the "toffees" steal points from the league leaders.
In the first half, "Man City" dominated and had a great opportunity to take the lead in the 43rd minute, but Kevin De Bruyne failed to convert the penalty kick.
The next 45 minutes were much more active. In the 64th minute, Romelu Lukaku scored the first goal of the match and put "Everton" in front. In the 70th minute, "Man City" had another chance to equalize from the penalty spot, but M. Stekelenburg once again reacted to S. Aguero's shot.
However, after a second missed penalty, the "citizens" finally broke through the "Everton" defense and in the 72nd minute Duran Nolito scored the equalizer. Neither team was able to score again in the remaining time.
London's "Tottenham" failed to take advantage of the opportunity to take the lead. Mauricio Pochettino's team only managed to draw against "West Brom" at the end of the match.
The match ended successfully for London's "Arsenal" club, who defeated "Swansea" 3-2. Goals for the winners were scored by Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott twice. After the victory, the "gunners" surpassed "Tottenham" and tied in points with "Manchester City".
Other matches ended with victories for the "Bournemouth", "West Ham", and "Stoke City" teams.
