In these matches, "Spurs" demonstrated a completely different game than lately, and at the same time ended their losing streak in the league. "Tottenham" played attacking football and had more shots towards goal and into the goal area than their opponents. However, in these matches, the score was equalized in the 67th minute by Ollie Watkins, but just 4 minutes later after a great Son's cross, "Aston Villa" defender Matt Targett scored an own goal. Another goal in these matches was scored in the first half by Emile Pierre Hojberg.

In another match of the day, "Brentford" surprised in the London derby. The newcomers of the "Premier" league defeated "West Ham United" 2:1 away. The decisive goal came in the 95th minute, scored by Yoane Wissa.
