„Newcastle United“ started a new era with failure. „Šarkos“ had to admit defeat to „Tottenham“ with a score of 2:3 at home. Inspired by the new owners, the „Newcastle“ players started the match quite well, when Callum Wilson scored in the 2nd minute of the game. However, in the same first half „Tottenham“ responded with three goals - scored by Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Kane, and Son Heung-Min. At the end of the match, „Newcastle“ had some hope when Eric Dier scored an own goal. Nevertheless, “Spurs“ maintained their advantage. It's worth mentioning that around the 40th minute of the match, the game was temporarily paused as it was reported that a football fan in the stands had a heart attack. The players noticed this and informed the referee, who called for medics and halted the match. After this victory, „Tottenham“ moved up to fifth place in the standings, overtaking „Brighton“ in points. „Newcastle“ remains in the bottom three.
