"The management of London's Tottenham Hotspur club would like to see Amsterdam's Ajax strategist Frank De Boer at the helm of the team, his agent announces.
Currently, the Spurs players are led by Tim Sherwood, who previously held the position of technical coordinator at the club, as strategist Andre Villas-Boas was relieved of his duties as head coach on Monday.
However, T. Sherwood does not have experience in such positions, so the club's management is looking for someone to replace the dismissed Portuguese.
One of the options that the club management finds most appealing is Frank De Boer, who currently leads the Ajax club in Amsterdam.
"Through my sources, I have learned that Tottenham is interested in the services of this strategist. However, nothing official has been announced, and the coach himself is not even thinking about it and is focused on the matters of the Ajax club," said Frank De Boer's agent, Guido Albers.
Previously, the 43-year-old strategist worked as an assistant to Bert van Marwijk in the Dutch national team.
Frank De Boer took over as head coach of Ajax in December 2010 and has led the team in 146 matches."
