The important victory in the fight for a place in the top four of the English Premier League was achieved by London's Tottenham.
The Spurs triumphed on Sunday with a 4-0 away win against Aston Villa.
The first half of the match ended not only goalless but also without shots on target.
The visitors delivered painful blows to the hosts right at the beginning of the second half. In the 50th minute, James Maddison put Tottenham ahead, and just three minutes later Brennan Johnson doubled the lead for the visitors.
In the 65th minute, the situation for Aston Villa became practically hopeless as their team captain John McGinn was sent off the field.
