The visitors took the lead already in the 5th minute of the match when defender Serge Aurier sent the ball into the net. Harry Kane doubled the "Spurs" advantage in the 40th minute with a long shot. The hosts' hope of fighting for points was revived in the 59th minute by David McGoldrick, but Tottenham restored their two-goal lead just three minutes later through Tanguy Ndombele. After this victory, the "Spurs" briefly returned to the top four of the Premier League.
