However, just a couple of minutes later, Tanguy Ndombele took advantage of a severe defensive mistake by Man Utd and equalized the score. In the 7th minute, the hosts' defense looked tragic again, and Heung-min Son took advantage of it to put the visitors ahead. In the 28th minute, Man Utd's situation became even more complicated when Anthony Martial was sent off for striking Erik Lamela in the face. This episode sparked a storm of discussions on social media, as in the replay, it is clearly visible that the Argentinean was the first to commit an offense, but was only punished with a yellow card.
Immediately after the incident, Eric Bailly once again made a serious mistake, and Harry Kane scored his team's third goal. In the 37th minute, Son took advantage of another gap in the opponents' defense to score Tottenham's fourth goal. Right after the break, Serge Aurier added another goal, and Kane sealed Man Utd's suffering by scoring a penalty in the 79th minute.
