London strategist Harry Redknapp has confirmed that the club is negotiating with Manchester City for the acquisition of striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Last year, the footballer lost his place in the main Manchester team and since January was loaned to Real Madrid.
Although Manchester City would be willing to release the striker, his salary, which is around 200,000 euros per week, is causing problems.
"Our chairman is negotiating with Man City," Redknapp said. "I really don't know how far they have progressed."
In the Spanish championship, Adebayor played 14 matches, starting in 6 of them, and scored five goals.
