After the purchase of Cristiano Romero, London's Tottenham continues to make moves in the transfer market. Rumors are spreading that the London club offered Milan's Inter 70 million euros, which is roughly 60 million pounds, for Lautaro Martinez. However, many journalists are reporting different information. The first was "The Times" journalist Gary Jacob, who claimed that Tottenham and Inter agreed on a sum of 60 million pounds sterling for which Lautaro Martinez could move to a Premier League club. Later, one of the most reliable Tottenham journalists Alasdair Gold confirmed that information, but stated that the agreement was reached before Chelsea and Inter agreed that Romelu Lukaku would move to London, which could complicate the deal. Fabrizio Romano claims that Tottenham offered 70 million euros and Martinez is a serious target for them, but the Argentinian's agent and Inter currently deny that an agreement has been reached. However, the Milan team denied earlier that Lukaku would leave, and the Belgian himself said he is happy in the "fashion capital" and should stay there. BBC journalist Simon Stone adds that Tottenham believes they will succeed in acquiring Lautaro Martinez in this transfer window.
Inter say they are not selling Martinez but they said similar things about Lukaku not long ago. Finances in a state. But would take Tottenham's outlay to well over £100m and Daniel Levy said club needed to be 'prudent' re finances earlier in summer. https://t.co/EuhJPCiNtI — Simon Stone (@sistoney67) August 8, 2021 Tottenham opened talks days ago for Lautaro Martinez offering €70m, also Atletico asked for Lautaro.
