London's Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor is happy to be able to help the team again and claims that former team strategist Andre Villas-Boas did not respect him.
The Portuguese was dismissed from his position as head coach last week, and his place was taken by Tim Sherwood, whose decision allowed E. Adebayor to once again take to the field.
The striker has already scored three goals in two matches, two of which the footballer scored in the weekend match against Southampton.
"It was hard. When I arrive at training and see that there is no place for me in the team, I feel disrespected," the 29-year-old striker said.
"I am a professional footballer, so I must not hang my head and do what is asked of me. I kept working and now it pays off, so I am very happy.
"I thank my teammates and the club staff because they have restored my confidence in my abilities. I don't want to disappoint them or the fans who support me," said E. Adebayor.
Overall, this season the Tottenham striker has played in just three matches.
