London's "Tottenham" has signed a contract according to which next season they will be able to play UEFA Champions League home matches at "Wembley" stadium, which holds 90 thousand fans.
The contract also includes the possibility of hosting local cup and Premier League matches in the 2017-18 season. Therefore, the "Spurs" will decide a bit later.
The capital club has already begun work, during which their "White Hart Lane" will be expanded to 61 thousand seats, but for a while Mauricio Pochettino's team battles may be watched by even fewer fans than now.
From August 2017, "Tottenham" will completely move to another arena, and the current reconstructed stadium will be opened in 2018.
Talking about this step, club chairman Daniel Levy revealed that there are currently even 50 thousand fans waiting in the season ticket queue, so at least a temporary move to "Wembley" will allow more people to see the Champions League games.
