In Africa - football match ended in tragedy. During a match held in Uige, Angola, there was a stampede of fans in which 17 people died, and another 59 fans were injured. It is reported that before the match between "Santa Rita de Cassia" and "Recreativo de Libolo" teams, football fans near the stadium noticed the athletes entering the field and began to rush towards the arena. The gates could not withstand the pressure, and in the ensuing chaos, many people were trampled. It is said that such a tragedy of this scale has never happened in Angolan football before.
