After taking advantage of the national team break, „Trakai“ secured the silver in the Lithuanian „SMScredit.lt A League“ spent their Saturday meaningfully - Marijampolės „Arvi“ manor riders played a friendly match with Gardino „Neman“ club from Belarus. The match ended in a draw 0:0.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, „Trakai“ coaches tested several new footballers who are participating in the club's tryouts.
As is typical for friendly matches, both teams started the match confidently and did not engage in spying on the opponents.
One of the most dangerous opportunities in the first half was created by „Trakai“. Aleksandras Byčenokas broke into the penalty area and took a strong shot on goal, but his shot was blocked by the opponents' defender at the last moment. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian goalkeeper Timofey Šeremeta barely had any work defending the riders' goal. Particularly active and noticeable in the first half was team captain Tadas Labukas.
In the second half, „Trakai“ made substitutions for almost all 11 players. The players trying to secure their place in the team started pressing the visitors from Belarus from the beginning and for some time had control in the opponents' half of the field.
No goals were scored and as the game reached the end, the Belarusian team players gained a clearer advantage, but there were no significant threats to the hosts' goal and the match ended goalless.
After the match, the head coach of „Trakai“ team Sergejus Kovalecas was satisfied with his players' performance and commented on the footballers participating in the tryouts.
„We are pleased with these matches, we executed our plan successfully, it's just a pity we couldn't score. I am satisfied with both the main team players and those who appeared after the substitution. It is too early to talk about the footballers participating in the tryouts. We will play a few more matches and see if they fit us or not,“ - the coach said.
