London's captain Ledley King will not return to the pitch in the near future - the Englishman is planning to undergo a groin surgery.
The central defender has not played since mid-October, when he suffered an injury in a match against London's Fulham.
Tottenham coach Harry Redknapp admitted that King will have to watch his team mates play from the sidelines for a long time.
Due to the suspension of Michael Dawson, as well as injuries to King and Younes Kaboul, on Wednesday against Blackburn the chance to appear will most likely fall to the heavily injured Jonathan Woodgate.
