The Czech national team and club defender Tomas Rosicky suffered a minor calf injury during Thursday's team training, which will keep him out of action for about ten days.

The 26-year-old player will miss this Sunday's match against Liverpool and next weekend's game against Newcastle. In addition, the defender will not be able to help the Gunners in the UEFA Champions League match against Hamburger.

The Czech joined the injured players Julio Baptista of Brazil, Freddie Ljungberg of Sweden, Lauren of Cameroon, and Abou Diaby of France. The good news is that goalkeeper Manuel Almunia can now represent his club after being sidelined due to a knock during Wednesday's English League Cup match against Everton.

These updates mean that in Sunday's match against Liverpool, Robin van Persie will have to drop back and play in the safe position, while Emmanuel Adebayor, who has returned from injury, will form a striking duo with Thierry Henry.
