The Champions League match between Ajax and Turin's Juventus club really heated up the fans' blood.
According to the Amsterdam police, before yesterday's quarter-final match, 140 fans from both teams were arrested for unrest.
The Dutch clashed with the Italians in various parts of the city, and pyrotechnics and even a knife were used in the fights. It is said that the Juventus fans were more aggressive.
"Two large groups were arrested, including many fans from Italy. 46 suspects were apprehended at the metro station, and later another 61 fans at the stadium. During the clashes, pyrotechnics and weapons were found.
Attempts were made to deal with the vandals using water cannons, mobile fences, and riot police. Eventually, another 30 people were detained. The incidents are under investigation," the law enforcement statement said.
