Known US portal "FiveThirtyEight", among all predictors of US presidential elections giving the most chances to Donald Trump, has announced its predictions for the end of the World Cup.
According to the model presented, each national team has its own offensive and defensive coefficient, three quarters of which are made up of previous results, and one quarter - the performance of individual players.
Then, taking into account the coefficients of teams, the model calculates the likely outcome of matches. Based on these results, it is finally possible to assess each country's chances of winning the entire championship.
Therefore, according to "FiveThirtyEight", the team with the highest chances of triumphing at the start of the tournament was the Brazilian national team, which is given a 19% chance of victory. In second place are the Spaniards with 17%, and in third place are the Germans (13%).
The probability of victory for the national teams ranked outside of the top three is already below 10%. This includes France (8%), Argentina (7%), Belgium (7%), England (7%), and Portugal (6%). The chances of the remaining teams are assessed as minimal.
