Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel was delighted that his team managed to sign a long-term contract with their safe Marco Verratti.
A couple of days ago, it was officially announced that the 26-year-old Italian had put his signature on a new contract and will play in France at least until the summer of 2024.
"As I have always said, Marco is very important to our team. He is a key player and one of the best safes in the world.
There is always room for improvement, but Verratti is very reliable and takes on a lot of responsibility within the group of players.
The player always thinks about others and their moods. Coaching Marco is the best thing that can happen to any coach," Tuchel explained.
"I will give you an example - a couple of days ago, he defended the colors of the Italian national team and only returned to France on Thursday to rush onto the field in Friday's match against 'Nice'. In the end, we had to decide that the player needed rest."
The Italian national team player has been playing in Paris since 2012 and has already played 290 matches for PSG, scoring 9 goals and making 48 assists during that time.
