On Thursday, the final matches in Group G of the World Cup were played.
Both teams that had lost their first two matches, Tunisia and Panama, met at the Saransk's "Mordovia" arena.
After 45 minutes of play, the Africans, who were trailing 0:1, managed to turn the game around and win 2:1.
In the 6th minute, Tunisia had their first dangerous attack, but Panama's goalkeeper J.Penedo remained vigilant.
Soon both teams settled down and played a calmer game. Rested Tunisians tried their luck when Y.Meriah took a header shot in the 20th minute.
In the 33rd minute, there was confusion in front of the African team's goal and the ball ended up in the net. The goal was credited to unlucky Y.Meriah - 1:0.
At the end of the half, the Africans launched a dangerous attack, but once again Penedo showed his skills.
In the 51st minute, receiving a pass from W.Khazri, F.Ben Youssefas leveled the score (1:1).
In the 66th minute, Panama's goalkeeper came out of the goal to block the opponent's shot, but receiving the ball, W. Khazri scored Tunisia's second goal - 1:2.
The teams exchanged dangerous attacks, but the result remained the same.
