During the break in the A League, the "Kaunas Žalgiris" team took advantage by playing a friendly match with the "Panevėžys" club participating in the Lithuanian championship. The match in Panevėžys ended in a draw with a score of 2:2 (1:2). The Žemynos gymnasium in Panevėžys was where the Žalgiris team first took the lead, with defender Steven Thicot scoring a goal. So far, the Frenchman had not yet scored while wearing the green and white jersey. However, a good start to the match was only half the job. The opponents soon equalized the score and even managed to take the lead before the break. After the break, the teams continued to exchange dangerous attacks, but the only goal-scoring attack belonged to "Kaunas Žalgiris" again, with Gratas Sirgėdas scoring. The teams that will not meet in the A League this year eventually ended the match in a tie - 2:2. The next A League match for the Kaunas team will be on September 27 in Gargždai against the local "Banga," and they will have to wait until October 3 for the home match against Vilnius' "Žalgiris."
