The Lithuanian U-18 national team played against their peers from Armenia in the third Minsk "Development Cup" tournament match. Despite showing more initiative in the second half, the Lithuanians lacked success in converting their chances, and the match ended in a goalless draw.
The Armenians started the game more aggressively and tested goalkeeper Pijus Petkevičius with long-range shots. The Lithuanians, who were strong defensively, struggled to create opportunities in the opponent's penalty area. The opponents became more active towards the end of the half, but P. Petkevičius reliably dealt with the Armenian shots.
The situation changed drastically in the second half. The Lithuanians showed more courage and attacked the opponents' goal, creating some dangerous chances. However, they failed to break the deadlock due to a lack of decisive shots.
In extra time, a shot from Domantas Vitkus narrowly missed the goal, and the following Lithuanian corner attacks were unsuccessful. Despite giving their all, the Lithuanians were left disappointed with the 0-0 draw. With two points in Group B, they finished third and will continue to compete for 7-9 place on Saturday.
