Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery has confirmed media reports about interest in Jese Rodriguez and is considering the possibility of starting negotiations with Real Madrid.
PSG has been looking for a forward position throughout the summer, following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Among the main candidates, Alexandre Lacazette is mentioned, however Lyon is not willing to sell the striker. Meanwhile, the situation regarding the Real Madrid player is not as complicated, so U. Emery does not rule out the possibility of attracting him to the team.
Zinedine Zidane had previously mentioned that he would be willing to loan Jese for playing time, but everything depends on the player himself, who does not show a great desire to leave Madrid. U. Emery added that he has been watching the 23-year-old player since his time at Sevilla.
"It is possible, but there is still plenty of time until the transfer window closes and there may be other candidates," the coach said about the interest in the Real forward.
"I know him well, as does the club. Jese is a great player, so anything is possible," added U. Emery.
Jese is a versatile player who can play on the wing and in the midfield position. However, in the white team, the competition is huge, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Gareth Bale forming the front line.
Jese shone in the 2013-14 season, but in January 2014 he suffered a long-term injury which made it difficult for him to regain his best form. Last season, the Spaniard played 38 games, scored six goals, and made eight assists.
